Wart is a type of skin disease that often grows on the face, hands, feet, and in other parts of the body. It is usually small and rough in texture. In some cases, wart can grow quite large as it forms into a solid blister.
Wart is caused by a virus called human papillomavirus. It is contagious and it can easily be acquired by using the towels or other personal objects of the infected person.
Wart however, can be removed. There is now a variety of treatments especially designed not only to get rid of wart but also to prevent it from recurring.
Wart can be removed either through physical or chemical means. The physical treatments would involve physically removing the warts through burning, scraping, cutting, or surgery. Although this is effective, it presents a few cons such as being too expensive. The procedure is also painful and it could cause scarring.
Chemical removal of wart is also another effective method. Topical solutions such as salicylic acid, silver nitrate, Cantharidin, and Imiquimods are proven to cure and remove warts. Other techniques include injecting Candida and Trichophyton antigens are also a known wart treatment.
Before going through any of these treatments, it is still essential to consult a physician about the safest and most effective way to eliminate warts.
